Biography

Selasie Djameh is a Ghanaian film director and cinematographer based in Accra, Ghana. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Motion Picture Photography from the National Film and Television Institute, Accra.
She frequently explores themes of femininity, disability and representations of women in her work. As a feminist and a secular humanist, she is passionate about using her work to bring attention to social issues, systems of oppression and to encourage empathy and self-acceptance.
Her work has been screened by Accradotalt, a cultural organisation promoting alternative African art and Ghana Academy of Television and Film Arts (GAFTA). She has also been interviewed about her work by Accradotalt, as well as Feminist Art Conference Toronto, an organisation promoting the work of feminist artists.
She was the 2014 winner of Face of NAFTI - a pageant where participants are judged on films they produce, and is a 2018 recipient of the Drama Queens Queer Universities film grant.
