EMMANUEL MWAPE (BIOGRAPHY)
Emmanuel Mwape "Chungu" is a Zambian activist and filmmaker who is passionate about telling stories that have a positive impact on communities. Emmanuel was privileged to be among the 60 people from across Africa who were selected for the inaugural Multichoice Talent Factory, 2018 -2019 Alumni, after a highly competitive selection process with thousands of applications from different African countries. He is a multi-award winning and nominee film-maker with extensive experience in scripting, producing, directing, filming and editing in both fiction and non-fiction productions. Born on March 18, 1991 in a family of four in a high density area of Lusaka. He attended his secondary school from The Kamwala Secondary School. He is well known for the production of a feature film “SAUL”, Award winning short film “Zambian Cab” and Zambia’s most traveled short film to international festivals called “SEX.'' Among his recent works is a feature film “The Painting” an African Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) nominated film and Limbani TV drama series which he took in the role of director of photography, both commissioned productions by one of Afrca’s biggest television channel M-Met. He has a bias towards making movies that revolve around urban crimes, Social problems and beliefs.
